Meaning “soul” in Latin, ANIMA explores the balance between skeletal strength and organic grace through a sculptural dining collection of chairs and a table. Inspired by biomorphic elegance and the symmetry of nature, Karim moves away from conventional vertical legs, instead creating a centrally rooted four-point base that appears to bloom from a single core. The chairs’ wasp-waist silhouettes and the table’s branching structure embody his philosophy of sensual minimalism – where every curve carries both beauty and purpose. The chair’s petal-like backrest and slender arching legs provide ergonomic comfort with a light visual footprint. The table is defined by a refined HPL surface resting on a powerful quadrilateral star base, where branching geometry reinforces the collection’s language of organic movement and structural elegance.

Karim Rashid
Karim Rashid is a visionary and prolific designer, recognized as one of the most influential voices in contemporary design. Karim’s philosophy, known as “sensual minimalism,” emphasizes soft, organic, and fluid forms that merge the immateriality of technology with the permanence of human emotion, creating objects and spaces that are both functional and poetic. Karim’s work is in 20 permanent collections, including MoMA, the Centre Pompidou, and the Brooklyn Museum. Karim believes that design must evolve beyond disposable culture. With LOOPE he created objects that live in a continuous cycle. The chair, sunbed, table, and planters are not static products. They are part of an ongoing transformation. When the user returns the product, the material becomes a new design. This circular process removes waste and creates a new emotional relationship between people and the objects they live with.
